Proposal Statuses and Meanings:

  • Clarity and Understanding
    • AC shepherds are working with the proposal originator toward proposal text that contains a clear problem statement and is within the scope of ARIN’s Policy Development Process (PDP).
  • Awaiting AC Review
    • AC shepherds have prepared the proposal for review by the remaining AC members at their next meeting or teleconference.
  • Remanded to Originator
    • The AC has found the proposal to not have a clear problem statement and/or not be within the scope of the PDP, and have left it to the originator to revise or rewrite.
  • Rejected Due to Scope
    • The AC has found the proposal to be clearly out of scope of the PDP, such that merely revising the Proposal would not bring it in scope.
  • Accepted as a Draft Policy
    • The AC has found the Proposal to have a clear problem statement and to be within the scope of the PDP, and have advanced it to Draft Policy status.
  • Under Petition
    • The originator has petitioned the AC to advance their Proposal to Draft Policy status. This may occur after 60 days of inactivity by the AC.
  • Withdrawn
    • The originator has withdrawn the proposal.
  • Closed
    • This proposal has been abandoned by the AC. This happens automatically after 60 days for remanded Proposals that are not revised and resubmitted by their originators.
