Micfo’s Amir Golestan's five-year prison sentence comes nearly two years after he was convicted of defrauding ARIN and includes forfeiture of IP address rights and financial penalties.
As we noted in back in May 2019, federal prosecutors from the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of South Carolina announced their indictment of Amir Golestan and his company, Micfo, LLC, for defrauding ARIN.
After months of discussions and collaborative efforts in the Names, Numbers, and Protocol Parameters communities, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) issued a call for comments on the first draft of its combined proposal to transition the stewardship of the IANA functions
