ARIN Ramps Up Caribbean Outreach for the Second Half of 2025

ARIN Ramps Up Caribbean Outreach for the Second Half of 2025

The second half of 2025 promises to be one of the most dynamic and impactful periods for ARIN’s Caribbean engagement to date. Our Government Affairs Department (GAD) is planning an outreach schedule for the Caribbean that builds on our longstanding commitment to strengthening Internet governance, infrastructure, and policy collaboration across the region. From regional forums to international diplomatic engagement, ARIN’s calendar is packed with opportunities to connect, collaborate, and contribute to Caribbean digital advancement.

Anchoring Industry and Technical Collaboration

In July, ARIN, in collaboration with the Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions (CAJS), will host the latest edition of the ARIN Law Enforcement Symposium. Taking place on 8-9 July in St. John’s, Antigua, the event once again convenes senior law enforcement and judicial officials for in-depth discussions on cybersecurity, Internet investigations, AI, and RIR support for law enforcement agencies. The sessions will bring global insights and regional relevance to the evolving intersection of law, technology, and public trust. The Attorney General of Antigua and Barbuda is expected to deliver a keynote address at the event, reinforcing the government’s commitment to cyber readiness and digital justice reform.

Continuing its mission to provide hands-on support and training, ARIN will host an ARIN on the Road Technical Forum in Antigua on July 10, immediately following the Law Enforcement Symposium. This in-person outreach session will be led by Director of Customer Technical Services Brad Gorman. The daylong event is designed to help local Internet stakeholders understand key developments in Internet number resource management, explore tools for routing security, and navigate ARIN services. Attendees also gain an understanding of the pathways to participation in ARIN’s policy development process and governance.

The ARIN on the Road traveling educational and interactive workshops provide an opportunity for stakeholders to directly engage ARIN staff, creating a space for open dialogue, networking, and personalized support. These events are especially important in regions like the Caribbean, where face-to-face engagement builds trust, strengthens technical understanding and participation in ARIN, and helps local organizations get the most out of ARIN’s tools and services.

The following week we will once again be participating in the Caribbean Association of National Telecommunications Organizations (CANTO) Conference & Trade Exhibition, taking place 13-16 July in Nassau, The Bahamas. Celebrating its 40th anniversary under the theme “Towards a Unified and Sustainable Caribbean Gigabit Society,” this annual gathering is one of the largest gatherings of regional telecom stakeholders and senior government officials and offers a strategic forum to explore Internet resource management, public policy, and regulatory best practices. ARIN will host an exhibition booth, with Director of Customer Experience and Strategy Joe Westover and myself on site to interact with attendees, answer questions, and share insights on IPv6, RPKI, outreach activities, and ARIN services.

Policy, Governance, and Multistakeholder Dialogue

In August, we support the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) in staging the 21st Caribbean Internet Governance Forum (CIGF) and 4th Caribbean Youth Internet governance Forum on 20-22 August in Varadero, Cuba. The CIGF underscores our commitment to an Internet governance model that reflects regional priorities through inclusive, multistakeholder engagement. This annual CTU-led event will once again spotlight pressing issues for the Caribbean, including cybersecurity, AI, and regional Internet policy.

September takes us to Dominica for the 30th Regional Meeting of the Caribbean Network Operators Group (CaribNOG), a landmark moment celebrating the evolution of one of the region’s most important technical communities. ARIN has proudly supported CaribNOG from its inception and will continue to serve as a catalyst for dialogue and development in Internet infrastructure. We offer congratulations to CaribNOG as it reaches this important milestone, recognizing its steadfast commitment to knowledge exchange, capacity building, and strengthening technical communities across the Caribbean.

Deepening Diplomatic Engagement

Following the success of the inaugural ARIN Diplomatic Forum held in New York City in May 2025, we will host the second ARIN Diplomatic Forum on 12 November in Washington, D.C. This event is part of our broader effort to ensure Caribbean diplomatic voices are heard and empowered in global Internet policy spaces.

Championing Regional Connectivity

As the year draws to a close, ARIN will join forces with long-standing partners for the 2025 Connected Caribbean Summit (CCS) on 2-5 December in St. Georges, Grenada. At CCS, ARIN serves as a main collaborative partner, co-hosting key forums such as the Public Policy Forum with the CTU and the Justice Forum with the CAJS. These forums provide platforms for stakeholders to discuss Internet governance, cybersecurity, and the integration of technology in justice systems. ARIN also contributes to the summit through presentations and discussions led by its leadership team to facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building among Caribbean stakeholders. Topics often include Internet policy trends, digital resilience, and the role of Regional Internet Registries.

CCS 2025 will also be the backdrop for the 11th Caribbean Peering and Interconnection Forum (CarPIF). ARIN will be actively involved in the CCS 2025 and CarPIF 11 sessions, continuing to champion regional connectivity, resilience, and collaboration.

Sustaining Our Strategic Impact

The coming months represent more than just a busy calendar for ARIN — they reflect our deep and growing partnership with the Caribbean. From celebrating the milestones of CANTO and CaribNOG to advancing digital justice and diplomacy and collaborating with policymakers and network operators, our outreach in Q3 and Q4 2025 is about building momentum for sustainable, inclusive Internet development.

ARIN’s initiatives and presence in these key forums underscores a clear message: The Caribbean matters in global Internet governance, and its voice, vision, and values are essential to shaping the digital future we all share. We’re proud to walk alongside our regional partners, fostering local leadership, strengthening digital capacity, and supporting innovation across borders.

To our partners, stakeholders, and friends across the Caribbean — thank you for your continued collaboration. We invite you to engage with us at every opportunity. Together, let’s continue building a connected, secure, and prosperous Caribbean digital ecosystem.
