This session introduces Autonomous System Provider Authorization (ASPA), the next advancement in routing security. ASPA extends the RPKI framework to verify upstream provider relationships, enabling detection and mitigation of route leaks and forged-path attacks that bypass traditional protections. The discussion will also include current updates and trends in both IPv4 and IPv6, highlighting how address exhaustion, IPv6 growth, and evolving routing practices intersect with the need for stronger, layered security.
