ARIN Organizes School Supply Drive for Local Children
This back-to-school season, ARIN organized a school supply drive in support of Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS). Over the course of a month, our collection bins filled to the brim with notebooks, pens, crayons, backpacks, and countless other items. These donations will go directly to local students, providing them with the tools they need to feel confident and prepared in the classroom.
With its mission to empower individuals and families to improve their quality of life and to promote community cooperation and support in responding to family needs, NVFS plays a vital role in strengthening the Northern Virginia community. This year, they anticipate distributing more than 1,600 backpacks filled with supplies to local students.
The initiative marks the first time ARIN has participated in a school supply drive and builds on the success of the holiday toy drive we organized last year, also in support of NVFS.
“Investing in our community’s youth is one of the most important things we can do,” said ARIN’s Director of Communications, Hollis Kara. “We’re proud to help build a brighter future for the next generation.”
A Community Effort
A particularly inspiring contribution came from ARIN’s End User Support Specialist, Ranock Saing, who went above and beyond by securing a grant from Year Up United, a nonprofit organization that helps empower young adults to cross the opportunity divide and build a meaningful career. This generous donation allowed Ranock to purchase dozens of additional supplies, significantly boosting our collection.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support from Year Up United,” said Ranock. “Their donation directly impacts our community’s most vulnerable students and sets them up for success.”
This collective effort was further amplified by a partnership with our office property management company, which encouraged participation from other tenants. It was a wonderful reminder of what can be achieved when we come together for a common cause.
“It was so rewarding to see the team come together to make a tangible difference,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Erin Alligood. “Knowing that our contributions will help our community is a true reflection of ARIN’s values.”
Thank you to all who participated in making this initiative a success. We are grateful to everyone who donated and volunteered their time; your generosity will make a true difference in the lives of many local students, setting them up for a successful and happy school year.
