Media / Press Policy For ARIN Events

Credentialed working journalists will be provided complimentary press registration to cover ARIN-hosted events, including Public Policy Meetings, Public Policy Consultations, and ARIN on the Road. A full listing of upcoming events can be found on our meetings page.

Press registration allows members of the news media access to all open policy and informational sessions for reporting purposes.

Media interested in attending should note the following information:

  • Registered press is permitted to report on all meeting events
  • Attendees may not be quoted without the attendee’s express consent
  • Filming or recording during general sessions is permitted, and by consent during any other time
  • Media must wear a press badge at all times and identify themselves as such when speaking to each attendee
  • IPv4 and IPv6 backgrounders are available upon request

The views of meeting attendees do not necessarily reflect the views of their employer or of ARIN. Reporters interested in speaking with an ARIN representative to verify the organization’s official position on any issue should contact media@arin.net.

Credentials

Journalists who have press credentials (such as a press club badge) should bring these credentials upon arrival to the ARIN registration desk. Media representatives welcome to attend include reporters, editors, writers, photographers, bloggers, and videographers.

Journalists who do not have press credentials (such as freelancers) should provide a letter of assignment on the letterhead of the publication or broadcast outlet for which the journalist is covering the meeting. Alternatively, journalists may submit recent samples of their work containing a byline, along with appropriate identification.

Contact

All media wishing to attend an ARIN event must identify themselves as members of the media in the online registration form, and they will be prompted to provide additional details. These registrations will be reviewed for approval and confirmation. Please contact media@arin.net with any questions or concerns.

Media are encouraged to preregister for all events.
