Detailed Reassignment and Reallocation Templates

Note: ARIN is planning to retire its original email template processor on 3 June 2024. If you are an ARIN customer who relies on email templates to manage your registration records, we encourage you to transition to our Reg-RWS service at the earliest opportunity. You may also utilize our open-source template processor.

ARIN customers can report reallocation/reassignment data by sending a completed email form, or template, to hostmaster@arin.net, or by using the Reg-RWS Application Programming Interface (API).

In 2020, as a result of policy changes ARIN 2017-12 and ARIN 2018-5, developed by the ARIN community, ARIN no longer allows an organization to create Points of Contact or Organization IDs (Org IDs) for another organization. A recipient organization must create an Org ID and Point of Contact with ARIN before receiving a reassignment or reallocation.

To support this change, email templates have been updated to Version 5.3. Submitted templates that do not meet the new policy guidelines will fail. Policy also requires that ARIN notify, via email, the requester and all Points of Contact associated with the receiving organization, whether the request was successful or not, and request validation of any invalid Point of Contact objects associated with the receiving organization.
