This is in response to your suggestion numbered 2011.40 upon receipt and shown below.

At this point in time, 2011-5 has not been adopted by the ARIN Board of Trustees and is still under consideration.

At the ARIN Board meeting on 10 June 2011, the Board directed the President of ARIN to consult with the IAB and IESG on the potential issues of adopting ARIN-2011-5 as policy. For further details, see the Board’s minutes at: https://www.arin.net/about_us/bot/bot2011_0610.html

Work on this issue is still underway at the IETF. See the IETF Active Internet-Draft, available here: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-weil-shared-transition-space-request

For further information on the status of this work, you can contact the draft authors or relevant IETF area director.

On 7/7/2011, The ARIN President said the following on the ARIN Public Policy Mailing List:

“While work is ongoing in the IETF, I am recommending that the Board keep 2011-5 under advisement. As noted previously, I will bring the matter of reserving a /10 for this recommended draft policy to the Board as we approach runout, as by that time we may have more insight into the progress within the IETF.”

If you are in the ARIN service region and need IP address space, you should consider requesting it from ARIN. https://www.arin.net/resources/request.html
