When you are giving out prizes at a convention booth, if you are giving out an iPod Touch, you might put one on a counter-top display with the HE.net's IPv4 run-out app running. (I already mentioned this to Megan in the hall.)

Thank you for your suggestion (2010.8) to display the HE.net IPv4 run-out application on an iPod Touch we may give away as a raffle prize during tradeshows.
ARIN has been careful to not advertise a flag date for IPv4 depletion in its outreach campaigns. We have found some audiences take what ARIN says to them in a very literal way. Audiences have always wanted ARIN to give them the exact date of depletion to help them plan, but we have purposefully given approximations inside a six-month window. IPv4 depletion is dependent upon community demand and it is not possible for us to provide an exact number of days to depletion with confidence. The HE.net application is an estimation being made by HE.net, not ARIN.
However, since so many people are interested, we will consider placing the HE.net and other similar countdown applications on a giveaway iPod Touch to show the variety of predictions. This suggestion is now closed. Thank you for participating in the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process.
