RPKI Deep Dive Workshop
Wednesday, 29 October, 2:00 PM CT
Brad Gorman, Director of Customer Technical Services
This hands-on workshop is limited to 50 attendees. Session sign-up is required prior to the workshop taking place. After 50 attendees register, a wait list will be created. Come with a laptop and be prepared to use the ARIN OT&E environment — learning as you go.
Seating is limited to 50 and will be provided to those that signed up before walk-ins are accepted into the room.
In today’s evolving threat landscape, securing the global routing infrastructure is more critical than ever. Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) plays a pivotal role in enhancing BGP security by providing cryptographic validation of route origins. This workshop offers a practical, in-depth look at the mechanisms behind RPKI, focusing on implementation and operational considerations for Network Operators.
Attendees will:
- Gain insights into the role of Regional Internet Registries in the RPKI ecosystem
- Learn the capabilities of ARIN’s OT&E environment
- Understand the benefits of Route Origin Validation (ROV)
- Pick up new troubleshooting tips and techniques to determine the RPKI validity state of their resources
Understanding ARIN Policy: What It Means for You
Wednesday, 29 October, 4:30 PM CT, Honor Ballroom A+B
Eddie Diego, ARIN Policy Analyst, and ARIN Advisory Council Vice Chair Matthew Wilder
The policies that shape IP address allocation and routing security in the ARIN region are developed by the community, for the community—and that includes you.
In this session, we will provide a high-level overview of ARIN’s Policy Development Process (PDP), clarify the roles and differences between Draft and Recommended Policies, and highlight current proposals that directly affect the NANOG community.
Whether you’re a longtime network operator or new to policy, you will leave with a clearer understanding of how ARIN policies are created, how they impact your operations, and how your input can shape their outcomes.
