ACSP Suggestion 2021.4: Offer Publication Server/Repository for Delegated RPKI

Suggestion

Author: Rich Compton
Submitted On: 01 April 2021

Description: I’d like for ARIN to offer an RPKI service like APNIC has where the prefix holder (like Charter) would have a delegated CA for creating ROAs but the publication server / repository would be hosted by ARIN.

Value to Community: Prefix holders could run the CA (such as Krill) which has less availability requirements but not have to maintain the infrastructure for the publication server / repository which has high availability requirements. This should speed the adoption of delegated CAs.

Thank you for your suggestion, numbered 2021.4 upon receipt, suggesting that ARIN offer a publication server/repository for delegated RPKI. ARIN does not support a hosted publication server/repository for organizations that chose to run their own Delegated CA at this time. We recognize this may be a desirable alternative for an organization that does not have the resources to run this kind of high-availability system. We will take your request under consideration for potential future development.

Thank you for participating in the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process. Your suggestion will remain open while we will take your request under consideration.

Thank you for your suggestion, numbered 2021.4 upon receipt, suggesting that ARIN offer a publication server/repository for delegated RPKI. Upon further review of your suggestion, we have determined that it is a duplicate of ACSP 2020.1: RFC8181-Compliant Publication Service for Delegated RPKI. We agree that offering this service to customers would be beneficial and the original suggestion, ACSP 2020.1, will remain open for prioritization and inclusion on our future work plan. We will be closing this request as a duplicate and will keep ACSP 2020.1 open, noting that two additional requests have been received for this service.

Thank you for participating in the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process. This suggestion will be closed as a duplicate request.
