Thank you for your suggestion, numbered 2021.24 upon confirmed receipt, asking that ARIN publish IP ranges allocated to major providers within each state or county to help individuals who need to create whitelists for firewalls to permit only local traffic. While we do appreciate the utility of such data, it appears that you seek lists of IP address blocks based on country of usage, and this information is not in the ARIN registry – ARIN only knows the address of the issued organization and that does not correspond to the states or counties in which an IP address block may be used.

We appreciate the challenge you are seeking to solve, but ARIN lacks the information in the registry that would be necessary to implement the suggestion. For this reason, we are closing your suggestion. It is possible that information on the routing of IP addresses blocks may be closer to the outcome you seek, and suggest you review potential use of IRR and/or RPKI datasets as a potential direction for further exploration.

We thank you for your participation in ARIN’s Consultation and Suggestion Process.
