ACSP Suggestion 2020.15: Make PPML Archives Searchable

Suggestion

Author: Owen DeLong
Submitted On: 07 October 2020

Description: Make PPML archives searchable by proposal/draft policy number and/or subject.

Value to Community: It’s difficult to find threads on a particular proposal and/or follow them in the current archive structure. This would simplify that process.

Thank you for your suggestion, numbered 2020.15 upon receipt, requesting that we provide the ability to search the Public Policy Mailing List (PPML) archives by proposal number, policy number, and proposal subject.

We agree that this functionality would be valuable and will prioritize it for future implementation. Until this is implemented, you could use the single site search feature in your search engine. For example, to search for policy 2020-1, you could enter the “site:lists.arin.net ARIN-2020-1” qualifier in Google’s search engine to list various email messages that contain that policy number.

Thank you for participating in the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process. Your suggestion will remain open until implemented.
