ACSP Suggestion 2017.28: Improvements to POC Searches Within ARIN Online

Suggestion

Author: Owen DeLong
Submitted On: 20 November 2017

Description: Allow choice of default search field per ARIN Online account for POC searches. Improve POC searches by automating the Use This POC click in the event a HANDLE search returns exactly one result.

Value to Community:

I’m almost always searching by HANDLE, while the default is EMAIL. The requirement to add 3 steps to every search process (click “more search options”, move into the handle field, click into the HANDLE field) is a small thing when you do one or two. When you’re working on 10 or 12 records at a time, it becomes quite tedious.

Additionally, since I’m usually searching by handle, I’m usually providing a completely unique key to the search. Having to additionally scroll down and click “Use this POC” is additional unnecessary tedium.

Therefore, these small modifications would make ARIN online more efficient and more usable.
