ACSP Suggestion 2011.38: Search Handling of Reallocated Networks
Suggestion
Author: Frank Boyd
Submitted On: 21 October 2011
Description: Please fix the handling of children of reallocated networks. Please see ticket #ARIN-20111020.226 for further details. Out customers believe they should be able to go to ARIN Search and see the relevant information about the IP’s we’ve SWIP’ed to them, but unfortunately it seems there is a bug in your system so that only some of my SWIPs go through properly. Thank you for your time.

This is in response to your suggestion numbered 2011.38 upon receipt and shown below. ARIN considers the Whois-RWS behavior a bug on the web and restful interfaces. Port 43 responds appropriately. The fix is currently unscheduled, but will be resolved through our normal internal processes. This suggestion will remain open until we notify you of this bug fix.

With this past weekend’s deployment of an automated WhoWas service came some additional enhancements to ARIN Online and some bug fixes.
Fixes were made so that the Whois Web and RESTful interfaces search by IP now returns the correct results.
Suggestion 2011-38 is now closed. Thank you for participating in the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process.
