Attendees of NANOG 86 and/or ARIN 50 who registered for the meetings before the deadline of 13 October are now eligible to begin voting in the 2022 Number Resource Organization Number Council (NRO NC) Election to seat one representative from the ARIN region. This election is open only to those attendees who are not also a Voting Contact for an eligible ARIN General Member; voting opens for those individuals later this week.

Eligible meeting attendee voters will be receiving an email with a link to cast a ballot in the NRO NC election starting at 3PM ET. Instructions and a link to your ballot will be in the email you receive and a step-by-step guide is also available on our website.

The candidates are:

  • Kate Gerry, NetActuate, Inc.
  • Nick Nugent, Amazon Web Services, Inc.

If you are registered for the NANOG and/or ARIN meetings and you didn’t receive an email, please confirm that you registered before the eligibility deadline of 13 October 2022 at 3:00 PM EDT or that you are not also a Voting Contact for an eligible ARIN General Member. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at elections@arin.net.

About the NRO Number Council

The NRO NC advises the NRO Executive Council on global Internet number resource policy proposals. Under the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the NRO in October 2003, the NRO NC also performs the role of the ICANN Address Supporting Organization Address Council (ASO AC).

Each of the five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) appoints three members to the ASO AC. Two members are elected and one member is appointed by the RIR’s Executive Board. The seat that is open for election in 2022 is currently held by Martin Hannigan.
