ARIN to Hold Meetings in Albuquerque
Chantilly, VA – The ARIN XX Public Policy and Members Meetings will take place 17-19 October in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the Hyatt Regency, directly following the NANOG meeting at the same hotel. About 200 representatives from the technical Internet community, large corporations, governments, academia, and civil society will attend ARIN XX.
Journalists are invited to attend the event that will bring members of the Internet community together for three days of meetings on technical and policy issues that will help shape the future of the Internet. On Sunday, October 14th, there will be sessions on IPv6, a newer numbering system for IP addresses that will provide enough address space to meet growing demand for Internetenabled devices.
Topics to discuss at ARIN XX include thirteen (13) active policy proposals on IPv4 depletion and IPv6 transition mechanisms, IPv6 allocation policies, and other technical and policy issues; Internet governance activities; IPv6 activities; and Internet number resource statistics.
WHO: The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), a Regional Internet Registry that distributes IP addresses to Canada, many Caribbean and North Atlantic islands, and the United States.
