ICANN 50 is currently underway in London, UK. This is the largest ICANN meeting to date with over 3,000 registered participants. This is in no small part due to the important discussions taking place on a variety of topics. Two relevant sessions for the ARIN community include “Enhancing ICANN Accountability” and “Transition of NTIA’s Stewardship of the IANA Functions” While NTIA has announced an intention to transition the stewardship of the IANA functions to the global Internet community, it is now necessary for all stakeholders to work together to develop a plan for this important transition.

I urge you to take the time to listen in and participate remotely in both of these sessions. As part of the larger Internet ecosystem, the ARIN community needs to have a strong voice in these discussions.

Both sessions will be held on 26 June.

Enhancing ICANN Accountability: 10:30 – 12:30 BST
Transition of NTIA ’s Stewardship of the IANA Functions - 1:30 – 330 BST

Direct links to the webcast and remote participation will be available when you expand the menu for the session in the “Happening Now” box at https://london50.icann.org/en.

There is no registration required for remote participation.
