After a six week period of evaluation, ARIN has released its new Routing Registry server into production. The new server is available at rr.arin.net (port 43) for whois queries and rr.arin.net (port 4444) for mirroring the ARIN data. The changes made include:

  • Filtering out email addresses and regular expressions from whois query replies
  • Support for common whois client flags
  • Separation of mirroring and whois components

For a list of instructions on querying, use the following command:
whois -h rr.arin.net HELP

These changes are for the server side only. Registering objects in ARIN’s Routing Registry will continue to be processed as they are today.

Please send any feedback you may have to hostmaster@arin.net.
