The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is contemplating changes in the way the RFC-Editor function is implemented. There is an initial draft proposal, available at:

In order to foster discussion on a process for fair and appropriate approval of independent submissions to the RFC series, the Internet Architecture Board (IAB) has created a public mailing list. Interested individuals are invited to join this mailing list and participate.
