ARIN received 65 fraud reports in the first quarter of 2024. Of the reports received:

  • 55 involved matters such as abusive activity that are outside the scope of ARIN’s fraud reporting process. No action was necessary.
  • One report involved out of region use of resources. We were unable to confirm; however, the reports were logged and will be further investigated should the organizations requests additional resources.
    • Ticket number: 20240102-F3951
  • Three reports involved unauthorized routing. The unauthorized routes were withdrawn and RPKI/IRR information was provided to help prevent future incidents.

    • Ticket numbers: 20240111-F3957, 20240117-F3958, 20240118-F3961

In addition to the legitimate reports, the Fraud Reporting Form was subject to a phishing attack that resulted in thousands of extra submissions - however, none of those submissions are included in the above summary.
