Sunday IPv6 Activities

On Sunday, 14 October 2007, all NANOG 41 and ARIN XX attendees are invited to attend special IPv6-related sessions including a workshop, a tutorial and panel discussions. Attendees may choose to attend any number of the sessions offered.

All of the sessions below will take place at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque in the Sendero Ballroom, which is located on the first floor of the hotel.

Hands-On IPv6 Introduction Workshop

Time: 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM
Presenter: Jordi Palet Martinez

This workshop will offer a practical introduction to  attendees in setting up and using IPv6 on their own laptops. It is intended for those just beginning to work with IPv6 and looking for an introduction to concepts and practices. 

Introduction to IPv6 Routing Tutorial

Time: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Presenter: Philip Smith, and Ron Bonica

This tutorial will provide an overview of IPv6 routing concepts and provide examples of proper IPv6 configurations for routers. There will be a question and answer period at the end of the tutorial for specific technical questions related to deploying IPv6 on existing networks.

IPv6 Technical Issues

Time: 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

This session will feature presentations on the current approaches for IPv6 deployment. Specific treatment of issues in early planning, common approaches, problems faced in deployments, and the possible solutions. This session is intended for those attendees who are looking for background in the development of their own IPv6 deployment plans.

IPv6 Case Studies - How We Did It and What We Learned Panel

This session will be a series of presentations on actual production migration to and/or deployments of IPv6. Presentations will cover a number of issues including working with existing infrastructure, establishing a business case for the migration or deployments, and the technical and organizational lessons learned during the process.
