Policy

As detailed in the Policy Development Process (PDP), the ARIN community decides how ARIN will manage and administer Internet number resources. These community decisions are recorded as polices. The ARIN Number Resource Policy Manual (NRPM) is the repository for all policies. Draft policies & proposals currently under discussion are available here.

Process

Previous versions of the PDP document the process by which the ARIN community developed policy throughout ARIN's history.

Proposals

The Proposal Archive documents every policy proposal received. The Draft Policy Archive lists every draft policy that has received resolution. Policy is discussed on the Public Policy Mailing List (PPML), which is archived here.

Policy Manual

Every time new policies are adopted, a new version of the NRPM is posted. The NRPM Change Log links to all previous versions of the NRPM, as well as details about which policies were enacted and which sections were modified.

Other

ARIN's Public Policy and Members Meetings, as well as Public Policy Consultations (PPCs), play a large role in the PDP. Please check out our complete archive of all policy and members meetings for more information.

Advisory Council

The Advisory Council (AC), as tasked by the Board of Trustees (BoT), is integral to the development of Internet number resource policy at ARIN. The archive of AC meeting minutes document all policy-related actions.

Reg-RWS and ARIN Online Maintenance Scheduled for Tuesday

ARIN's RESTful Provisioning service (Reg-RWS) will be unavailable from 10:00 AM until approximately 1:00 PM ET on Tuesday, 14 July.

During this time, transactions submitted via ARIN's RESTful Provisioning service (Reg-RWS) will be rejected and ARIN Online users may experience degraded service.

Once service is restored, Reg-RWS will be fully available and ARIN Online will return to full capacity. RESTful calls sent during the outage will not be queued, and must be resubmitted after the maintenance period. All other ARIN publicly available services (Email, Whois, RDAP, IRR, RPKI Repository Services, etc.) will not be affected.
