ACSP Suggestion 2009.22: NRPM Definitions

Suggestion

When reading Draft Policy 2009-7, I was trying to find the definition for "end-site". It was not in the NRPM, section 2: Definitions. To my surprise, I was pointed to section 6.2.9 for the definition.

My suggestion is that if there is a definition outside of section 2: Definitions, the term be added into section 2 with a pointer to the section that contains the definition. In this instance, Section 2.8: End-Site would be added with the text "See Section 6.2.9".

Thanks.

In response to suggestion 2009.22, ARIN staff implemented an editorial update of the NRPM on 13 January 2010 that removed the redundant Section 6.2 definitions, and moved the 6.2 definitions that are not redundant to Section 2. There is no longer an IPv6-only definition section. Suggestion 2009.22 is now closed.

ARIN staff is currently working on an editorial update of the NRPM that will address your issue. We plan to remove the redundant Section 6.2 definitions, and move the 6.2 definitions that are not redundant to Section 2. There would no longer be an IPv6-only definition section.

We have a review process with the ARIN Advisory Council and Board of Trustees that should be completed by the end of December. We anticipate publishing a new version of the NRPM with updates in January 2010. This suggestion will remain open until implemented.
