There is still time to make your opinions known about the proposed changes to the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process. In its first five years ARIN has received 170 suggestions and hosted 19 consultations. At this time ARIN is proposing changes to the suggestion process found as Part B of the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process (ACSP).

The primary change calls for queuing of all suggestions determined by staff to have merit (that can not be implemented quickly) until each ARIN Public Policy and Members Meeting. Two weeks in advance of each meeting the community will be asked, via a mailing list and/or survey, to discuss the merits of each suggestion and to rank them in order of desired implementation. ARIN believes this is a more transparent and equitable way to broaden community involvement in suggestions. This approach will aid ARIN in scheduling for implementations to coincide with ongoing strategic objectives.

We strongly encourage you to review both the current and proposed versions of the ACSP, and to submit your constructive comments to arin-consult@arin.net.

The proposed changes, which are restricted to Part B, are available at:

Once again, discussion on arin-consult@arin.net will close on 10 February 2012. ARIN seeks clear direction through community input, so your feedback is important. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@arin.net.
