ARIN is currently offering a demonstration of the RESTful web service for Whois data contained within ARIN’s registration database. The purpose of this demonstration is to solicit community feedback regarding the technical aspects of RESTful web technology as applied to ARIN’s public Whois information service. We plan to replace ARIN’s legacy Whois service with Whois-RWS by the end of 2010. For continued use of legacy WHOIS clients, we will include a WHOIS port 43 proxy service.

Access to the demo is available at: http://whoisrws-demo.arin.net/ui

Information about REST, the Whois web service and API details, is available for download on the demo page.

To participate in this demonstration, enter a query into the “Search WHOISRWS” box in the upper right corner of the demo page. By using this service, you are agreeing to the Whois Terms of Use.

Let us know what you think by registering and sending your feedback to the Whois-RWS Mailing list: http://lists.arin.net/mailman/listinfo/arin-whoisrws
