The Internet technical community released a Memorandum on the Future of the Internet in a Global Economy at the Ministerial Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on 16 June 2008 in Seoul, Korea.

The Memorandum was presented by the Internet Society (ISOC), and represents a coordinated effort of all five Regional Internet Registries, IETF, ICANN, and other stakeholders to encourage in all future development a continued commitment to preserve the ability to connect, communicate, innovate, and share information via the Internet.
