On 1 April 2004 in Montevideo, Uruguay, ICANN and the Number Resource Organization (NRO) signed a letter of intent to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) detailing the conditions under which and the manner in which the NRO will act as the ICANN Address Supporting Organization (ASO).

The letter of intent is published on the NRO website at:

The letter states that prior to signing this MoU, each RIR will have a public comment period. ARIN invites any and all interested parties to send comments to the
Nro-comments@nro.org mailing list. Subscription information for this list is provided at:

There will also be discussion of this proposed MoU at the ARIN XIII Public Policy Meeting, on Monday, April 19, in Vancouver, B.C. Meeting registration details can be found at:
