AfriNIC Recognized as Fifth Regional Internet Registry

On April 8, 2005, ICANN officially recognized AfriNIC as the fifth Regional Internet Registry (RIR). AfriNIC's recognition took place during the ICANN Board meeting in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
